Nick Suzuki has a lot to say about the acquisition of Patrik Laine

Before finalizing the trade to acquire Patrik Laine from the Columbus Blue Jackets, Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes took the rare initiative of consulting his captain, Nick Suzuki.

Nick Suzuki confirmed that he had spoken with Hughes and expressed his support for Laine's arrival, highlighting the importance of having a goal-scorer with a positive attitude.

«I told him that it would be quite an acquisition to add a guy who can score goals, as long as he comes with a very good attitude,» said Suzuki. «I also spoke to Laine. He seems to be ready and very excited. So, I don't see any problem.»

Although Laine had tumultuous endings in both Columbus and Winnipeg, Suzuki isn't worried, asserting that the atmosphere in the Canadiens' locker room allows for easy integration.

With Martin St-Louis as head coach, Laine's transition into the team should be smooth. Everything suggests that Laine is motivated to be an exemplary teammate.
