Kent Hughes knows the price to pay for Steven Stamkos
While Steven Stamkos is associated with Martin St-Louis, Vincent Lecavalier, and Kent Hughes, fans expect a high price tag to acquire this Stanley Cup champion.
However, according to AFP Analytics, his next contract could surprisingly be affordable for the Canadiens, estimated at $6.3 million per year for three seasons.
Though it may seem surprising, this is comparable to contracts of other top-level players.
At this salary, Stamkos would become the fourth-highest-paid player on the Canadiens.
Despite being 34 years old, he remains one of the best players in the world, with a solid performance this season.
If Kent Hughes can sign him, acquire Trevor Zegras, and draft a young talent like Cayden Lindstrom, the Canadiens would have a very interesting lineup.
