Following the game against the Dallas Stars, Montreal Canadiens' head coach Martin St-Louis confirmed that veteran Jake Allen will start in goal tomorrow afternoon against his former team.

While Cayden Primeau was previously seen as the organization's number two goalie, recent performances by number 34 have shifted the situation significantly.

Jake Allen is set to play his fourth game in the last ten for the Canadiens, while the American goalie has only started one game in the same period. This development is particularly concerning for the 24-year-old Primeau, who is struggling to secure playing time to continue his development.

With the trade deadline fast approaching, Kent Hughes faces a critical decision. Despite expectations that Jake Allen might be traded soon, he now seems to be Martin St-Louis's trusted backup for Samuel Montembeault.
