Exciting Boost Coming to the Canadiens: The Fate of a Top Prospect is Confirmed
Over the past few years, the Montreal Canadiens have acquired several talented young defensemen, resulting in what could be one of the most impressive pools of defensive prospects in the organization. As evidenced by the emergence of Jayden Struble, there is a growing congestion on the Montreal blue line, and a similar situation could unfold in Laval in a few weeks.
Kent Hughes recently mentioned that Lane Hutson will join the team after he finishes his university season, similar to what Sean Farrell did last year. Additionally, according to Anthony Marcotte, the Laval Rocket could receive unexpected reinforcement as the fifth overall pick in 2023, David Reinbacher, may join the farm team after his season in Switzerland.
"It's not a good season for Kloten, where David Reinbacher plays in Switzerland. We should not be surprised to see him arrive in Laval for the last part of the season." - Anthony Marcotte
Despite Kloten's disastrous season with only 8 wins in 33 games, the Austrian defenseman has been performing excellently. His +1 differential speaks volumes about his ability to excel in defensive territory, especially considering that his team allows the most goals in the league.
Although his offensive contribution has somewhat decreased compared to last year, David Reinbacher leads the team's defensemen with six points in sixteen games, even though he has missed almost half of the season.
Appearing on "The Sick Podcast - Recrutes Draftcast," former Canadiens scout Grant McCagg also believes that the 19-year-old could arrive in North America in the coming weeks. He is convinced that the CH management will want to offer him the opportunity to play more games to be fully ready to transition to professional ranks in 2024-2025.
"Knowing he hasn't played much this season, I think he will come to North America to play more games after his season in Kloten. I really think he will join Laval towards the end of the season." - Grant McCagg
Wow! We can expect the Montreal Canadiens (Lane Hutson) and the Laval Rocket (David Reinbacher) to receive reinforcements in hopes of qualifying for the playoffs. It will certainly be very interesting to see the two top prospects of the Tricolore in action in the professional ranks. We are eager to see where these two players are in their development.
