Phillip Danault spoke openly about Pierre-Luc Dubois' season with the Kings. It was a very challenging season, and he does not hide that.

The Quebecer was straightforward. Danault confirmed that Dubois' experience was a complete disaster.
The Kings paid a high price to bring Dubois to Los Angeles, and after just one season, he has already moved to Washington.
Despite signing a lucrative contract worth $8.5 million annually, Dubois only managed to accumulate a modest 40 points.
Danault admits that the trade involving Dubois with the Jets will hurt the Kings in the coming seasons, and he is absolutely right...
"It was quite delicate. It didn't work out well for him, and the season was difficult. I was a bit surprised by the trade since he had an eight-year contract. It was really a touchy situation. He probably put a lot of pressure on himself with his contract in a new organization. It's clear that all of this hurt the organization. We lost a lot of players."
