General Manager Don Waddell discussed Patrik Laine's situation on TSN1050.

He stated that Laine, who no longer wants to play for the Blue Jackets, expressed his desire to leave well before Waddell's arrival. Laine joined the team after 28 games last year and cited locker room issues as reasons for his departure.
Waddell explained that it is difficult to bring him back under these circumstances, but it could be an option. He is in daily talks with interested teams, but if no trade is possible, Laine will have to return for training camp.
Wow! That would be a significant setback for the Finn.
Waddell also mentioned the financial challenges, with Laine having a cap hit of $8.7 million and a salary of $9.1 million.
