Over the weekend, shocking news hit the hockey world: the arrest of Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic. Indeed, number 17 was apprehended by police due to a domestic altercation that occurred at the Lucic family home.

During her call to the police, the attacker's wife, Brittany Lucic, reportedly mentioned that the tough player had tried to strangle her because he was unable to find his cell phone, visibly intoxicated at the time of the incident.
However, Brittany later changed her version of events, stating that Lucic had instead pulled her hair.
"Operations relayed to responding officers that the complainant/victim called and stated that her husband had tried to strangle her," the police wrote, according to the Globe. "The victim stated that her husband could not find his cell phone after returning to their apartment after an evening out. She said the suspect began yelling at her, demanding his phone, believing she had hidden it. She asserted that she did not have the phone and did not know where it was."

Moreover, today is the day the Bruins forward appeared in court, officially facing assault charges that could lead to a maximum sentence of two and a half years in prison.
Milan Lucic ultimately pleaded not guilty, thus being released on bail. However, he must attend a preliminary hearing on January 19, having notably received a prohibition from consuming alcohol or abusing the victim.
We will keep you updated on this story as new developments arise, but everything suggests that his NHL career is indeed over!
