A few days ago, we mentioned the possibility that Montreal Canadiens prospect Owen Beck might soon be traded in the OHL.

Now, it's official!
In the last few minutes, the Saginaw Spirit confirmed the news. The junior club acquired the 19-year-old center in exchange for Aiden Young and two second-round picks (2025 and 2027) as well as a third-round pick in 2026.
"The Spirit acquires Owen Beck, OHL champion and World Junior gold medalist, in exchange for Aiden Young and three draft picks." - Saginaw Spirit

Wow! That's interesting!
This is excellent news for the 33rd overall pick in 2022, who will now have the opportunity to play for a much better team for the rest of the season. Additionally, he will also have the chance to participate in the Memorial Cup, given that Saginaw is the host team for the prestigious tournament this year.
Now playing for a much more offensive team, we can expect Owen Beck's contributions to increase, which is excellent for his development. The forward has accumulated 16 goals and 14 assists (30 points) in 25 games so far this season.
However, we can now forget about Beck joining the Laval Rocket due to his participation in the Memorial Cup. We may potentially have to wait until next year before seeing him debut in the professional ranks.
Here is the official statement from the Spirit:
