Within the Montreal Canadiens, many fans are eagerly awaiting the end of the season for one of the organization's most precious prospects, Lane Hutson, to see him play in the National Hockey League.
This young offensive defenseman has been remarkably distinguishing himself since his debut in the NCAA, breaking several records and showing a promising future in Montreal.
Regarding the possible arrival of Hutson to the Tricolore in the last weeks of the regular calendar, the current head coach of the 19-year-old American, Jay Pandolfo, has just sent a strong message to Martin St-Louis.
According to the former NHL defenseman, now coach of Boston University's team, St-Louis will greatly appreciate coaching Lane when he plays professionally.
"The things that Marty had to overcome to become the player he became, which is quite incredible, obviously, being a small guy, I think he will really, really appreciate coaching Lane. Really! I think he will have a lot of respect for the way he plays the game, and I think it could certainly help Lane too."
Pandolfo asserts that, in his opinion, due to his protégé's game intelligence, there is no doubt that he will succeed in the NHL, despite his current stature of 5 feet 10 inches and 161 pounds, which may seem limited.
He also emphasizes that the Canadiens' second-round pick has a great thirst for learning, which further reinforces the possibility of seeing him succeed professionally.
"He is so coachable, that's the other part. He wants to learn. That's good."
For those who want to see Hutson in action, he is a key element of the American defense during the World Junior Championship, which takes place during the holiday season.
